How is PaveDrain maintained?
Minimal maintenance needed. Vacuum trucks can clean clogged joints. Blocks are individually replaceable.
What’s the infiltration rate?
Over 1,500 inches/hour—among the highest. Verified via ASTM C1701 testing.
What’s the load capacity?
Rated AASHTO HS-25—suitable for heavy vehicles.
How does it handle freeze/thaw cycles?
Its interlocking, flexible design handles freeze/thaw well. Water drains before it can freeze inside the structure.
How much open area does it have?
20% internal void space, 7% surface void space.
How much water can it store?
Up to 0.491 acre-ft per acre with 1 ft rock base—handles 100-year storms.
Is it available in different colors?
Yes. Earth tones standard. Custom colors available with 5,000 sq. ft. minimum.
How do you replace a broken block?
Use the PaveDrain Extraction Tool or pull blocks like “Jenga” for quick replacement.
Can it be plowed with a steel snowplow?
Yes. Rubber-tipped blades recommended to protect edges.
Should it be sealed?
Sealing helps protect against salt/brine damage and extends visual appeal in cold regions.
What’s the life expectancy?
25+ years. Individual block replacement ensures long-term maintenance.
Is it ADA compliant?
Yes. Gaps under ¼" and surface is firm, stable, and slip-resistant.
Can I paint stripes on it?
Yes. Standard road striping paint works fine.
